looking very good as all your stuff is, i just got a speed hut speedo ( GPS ) if your capaciter does not work you can alway go with a ballistic battery. I use one and they are very small. I like your carb filter set up, i would like to do something like that but unfortunatly my single shock is about 3 inches away from the center Lectron

Today I heard back from Speedhut and they confirmed that a capacitor will work just fine as long as its regulated to less than 16volts... (well, I hope Jim's R/R keeps it below that!)...
And also today while working on the bike, I experienced a bit of "Cart before the Horse"
The moral being:
"Do not powdercoat everything until you are sure that all of the parts you have powdercoated are actually going to function along side of everything else"
Ok, see the nice shiny black kick-start lever?!!! Looks right at home, right?!

Boy, that sucker sticks out quite a bit? (Takes a seat and realizes it sorta digs into my leg

)

I can probably work around that though.... (trying to talk myself out of more work)
Unfortunately, that isn't the biggest issue...

DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So then I thought about modifying the foot-peg so it flips up (and stays up) like an H2 foot-peg. As it sits, its spring loaded and wants to be down.
Ah screw it!
So I dug out another crappy (perfect for powdercoat) H1 kicker, fired up the torch and started bending......
One good thing about Winter in Minnesota is that it doesn't take long to cool a part for "test-fitting".

So in the end.. MUCH BETTER.
She tucks in nice and tight, clears the footpeg and everybody wins.

after and before

I also wanted to show you guys how the rear brake "return" worked out.

Since the rear brake pedal is not spring loaded like one would find on an early h1 or s-series. I installed HEAVY springs in the rear drum (springs that hold the shoes together). If I had to guess, I'd say they were 50-70% stiffer than the OEM springs.
I needed a way to adjust the cable in the drum, but also allow it to be "locked in".... this is what I came up with.
Just used an additional cable "lock-nut" on the opposite side of the lever.

and a c-clip on the "lug" to keep the outer sheath from moving and it works SUPERB!

that's it for now........
