thanks.. but I just stole the idea from someone else here.

HUUUUUUUUGE day today. My rims were detained in customs yesterday due to them being under the jurisdiction of the National Transportion Department. Something about having a DOT approved sticker or some such crap.
After a bit of freaking out, the nice lady at FedEx walked me through the process of how to jump through the hoops and literally which boxes to check. Done deal.

They are now in Brian H's possession. Lets all hope they are what I ordered 2 months ago.

I also got a message yesterday from "the Upholstery Shop" stating that the seat would be done by this weekend. This seat has taken quite a bit of work and Ill post photos and step by step of what/how/why the heck it turned out like it did. I wanted to shy away from a fiberglass tailsection, but at the same time, a stock seat just didn't work.... so it turned into a full on custom jobby using a stock pan and brand new foam as a start point.

As soon as I get it back, I can sort the rear of the frame out, figure out the rear fender (if any?) and Paint the Bodywork!

It would be a miracle if it were ready for the Gap, but its actually on the radar right now....

no progress this week.... still waiting on the seat. :(

I did get an important piece of the puzzle though. Took a while from England to Customs to Brian H (laced/trued) to me.... but WELL WORTH THE WAIT!

Thanks Brian!

amazing how something can be so LIGHT!....while at the same time being so DARK!

Very nice. They also helped me make a decision, I have a set of black aluminum hoops for my h1 and have been up on the fence about powdercoating the hubs or not. I think for the direction I want the project to go, I will be going for a more natural aluminum look.

I knew you'd like that!

There is going to be very little chrome (or other shiny silver bits) on this bike.

Wheels are Morad/Akronts anodized black and spokes are black-chrome. Nipples are nickel plated. I almost had them black-chromed as well, but that would have been silly.

3.00" x 18" Rear and 2.50" X 18" Front (same size that are mounted on the denco H1..which are also Akronts)

I originally ordered a 2.15 x 18" Front, but they did not have any of the "unshouldered" in stock...so the front was upgraded to a 2.5" at no additional charge.

After a few initial "hiccups" with the order (mostly involving 3 weeks going by without letting me know they did not have the 2.15" available), everything went smooth and they are exactly what I was anticipating.

I'll use Central Wheel (Birmingham, UK) again. And Brian H too.... 8-)

i used to work two factories down from Central Wheel, igot my wheels from them. I do like the black look, very stealthy.
