Note: It is NOT my intention to start another debate on oil!
So I went to my local multibrand cycle store to pick up some Suzuki cci 2-stroke oil. My huhh? moment was when they told me they no longer sold any 2-stroke oil and Suzuki does not have the cci anymore. So, I went to the Honda dealer and picked up Honda GN2. I wanted to make sure I got an oil for injector use and for air-cooled engines. So my concern is, what does the future hold for the 2-stroke oils? I know many companies make it, and as long as we have weed-whackers and chain saws we will have oil available, so it is probably not a big issue. I just know I felt like the dealership left me standing there naked!

I was told the same story at my local Yamaha dealer 2 summers ago when I went to pick up some Yamalube...about 2 months later the shelves were stocked again and the bottles were redesigned with brand new labels etc. It seems there might have been some push-back from consumers and dealers.

Lots of 2 stroke sleds up here still... I'd imagine we will be safe for a couple decades, after that, we might have to buy it at the local drug store. Caster oil and alcohol... ;)

There are plenty of new two-stroke dirt bikes, they're not going away. :)

Don't worry... Castor-oil plant still grows here everywhere. When I was a kid, friends and me played slingshot their fruits each other  I think after that, I got impregnated with castor oil and them started loving two strokes. If 2 st oil misses in the market it will not be difficult to make a small oil refinery and ship it worldwide :)

Although not air cooled and running a pump, with the exception of Honda, the japs are still producing 2-strokes bikes. I can't see from a marketing point how they could not have an oil with there label on it sitting in the dealer for those that are buying a new bike. I am sure it states right in the manual to use there specific oil.

Moped; these don't look to be going away anytime soon

Of course back in the day, an old Sears chainsaw also said you could use 30 weight engine oil as a pre mix

As mentioned several times in this thread, 2-cycle oil isn't going anywhere any time soon. Ski-Doo/Evinrude teamed up a few years back and came up with an un believable direct injection gig that passes All 2012 EPA regulations with flying colors. The 600cc twin makes 130hp@like 8k and the 800cc twin does almost 160hp!

** So, when are we gonna see a New 2-stroke road bike on the market ???? !!!!**
