I have a mismatched set of freshly bored/honed (1st over) H2 cylinders. The outer cylinders are the 2nd generation 72 cylinders, and the center is the first gen with the square cut transfers. Anyone happen to have the opposite by any chance? I don't care which gen I end up with, so long as they match. I'm open to trading or buying, but the need is not urgent. Not sure why they needed up this way-in a bunch of stuff I bought last year, and I would like to have a matching set to use, or sell/trade. :)

How about just cutting the outer two to match the higher performance center one? Also check and match port timing, which really should be done any time you bore and/or use unknown cylinders.

Apparently the casting is different..so you can't cut them that way.

Well, I can't claim I've done it, but it sure looks like you can. According to the resource site page http://3cyl.com/mraxl/partid/cylinders/cyldif.htm, they are both 33mm deep, with the 2nd generation one tapering shallower.

It was Kawasaki's way of making and impact on the "market", early cylinders are not portable to later specs :?

I suppose not, but I'm suggesting they all be made to match the early specs.

It may be wishful thinking, but I'm hoping to solve two people's problems at once. :D In any case, porting is more work than I want to do for spares/future use parts, but maybe when the time comes.

I won't need them until RB sends my heads anyway. :D

If they're bored and honed, you presumably have the pistons that the bores were matched to. So you not only need to trade, but trade for cylinders and matching pistons of the same overbore diameter. (?)

I'm not sure what you mean, Z.
