Hi guys
Rotorman has been helping me a great deal via email in re-assembling my 1975 S3.

At the moment, the frame and swingarm have been powdercoated black, engine is in and the wiring harness is in. It should be ready to fire up but although I have lights and etc, the engine is dead as a hammer and I did not see any spark when I pulled the plugs and kicked it over.

Rotor wanted to know if I had ground off the powdercoat where the bike's electrics ground on the frame. I hadn't. I have now found two places of ground, on the side of the frame by the electrics and of course the battery. I've ground both spots to bare metal and re-attached the connections.

Would anyone know if I am missing a ground point at all? I have snooped around the bike looking for another ground and can't see one anywhere.

Also, when I moved the bike off the stand I found this unattached wire under the bench. I searched the wiring harness for a missing head like that and found zero. I am hoping I replaced it when I had the harness tested and repaired. Does this look familiar to anyone?

Any thoughts appreciated.

There should be a ground strap from the sprocket cover to the rear frame mount.
Note the wire below the intake:

Thank you. Somehow that was missed. If I needed to obtain one, any ideas on a source?

Is it about six inches long with eyelets on both sides?

It was probably that broken wire you found and showed us.
Nothing fancy required, just be sure its touching bare meatl on both ends.
Dales photo shows where it went.

What gauge wire would you think that was, if you had to guess?
