No brass in this assembly....
11 balls and a sheetmetal cylinder.
Lots of grease is definitely key but it'll still give you a go.
I'm just happy its back together without me losing any of the balls...

*ALERT* Something doesn't look right - the bearing behind the sprocket is on the right way, but the retainer-ring in the case doesn't look aligned!! Is there a spacer inboard of the brg, which should not be there? Is it the photo, Is it me??? :?

No, you are right. The seal for the countershaft isn't in the case bore either.

All is good....I decided to take a picture after I took the output shaft back out.
It's just sitting there sorta half-assed. The left bearing isn't even sitting in the saddle....
But thanks for being concerned!!!
I'll take progressive pix as I do the final assembly.
Might not be till next week as I've got a top end to do (among other things) on the dirt bike this weekend.

Been out of commission for a few weeks......
Back on track.
Got everything all situated and shimmed to my satisfaction...finally!
Ended up replacing the kick starter assembly.
Originally when I was dealing with the transmission I had to replace first gear on the output shaft because of some chipped teeth.
Drive dogs were fine as was the mating gear on the input shaft.
It wasn't until I was finished setting up the transmission that I figured out that the
kick starter gear was the mating chipped tooth gear that caused the first gear damage.
All good now.

Bottom end all buttoned up.

Clutch cover pump and tach drive gears back together.

Shift shaft assembly installed.

Drive gear and clutch assembly installed.

Clutch cover on for the second time........don't forget to preload the kick starter spring!!!

Oil pump and lines up next. Then on to the cylinders.
I've got the torque plates almost complete and will bore and hone the cylinders probably next week.
Stay tuned........

Did you impact locktite the holddown screw and stake the counter sunk screw on the drum hold down?

Yes I did! 290 Loctite.
And if you had gotten around to finishing your "How to install you kickstarter" video, part II,
I might not have forgotten to preload the spring before I put the cover on.
Thanks for the QC moment!
Steve
