I mean one that is very flat, and very shiny, and very black. On my original seat cover the individual rectangles are not raised up from their borders, and soft looking like all of the copies I have seen. The vinyl is blacker, shinier, and heavier looking. By the way, the copies I have seen are nice otherwise. I just received one from z1parts.net and its the best I've seen yet. It may be the same one Reproduction Decals sells and looks identical as far as I can tell from a careful study of photos on the web. I also have one I bought 15 years ago that is nice, but lacks the wire around the edges. I couldn't find that RB is selling them now.

The thing is, I don't want something that just looks nice, but one that looks like the original beautiful, distinctive, uncomfortable looking one. Any sources except NOS?

Thanks.

I mean its flat and shiny everywhere. Where I sit its rumpled and splitting. Maybe they do get flat with age. The one I got is from z1parts.net., formerly Route 66 Classic Motorcycles, or something like that. They told me they make them themselves. Z1 Enterprises doesn't have H2 seat covers. The Jess Bikes one looks about the same as the others and has a great price. Maybe I'll pm RB. Thanks.

None of the repros are bright and shiny as they were new. Have had a few nos in the past.. and definitely a much glossier look..

It didn't get the way it is from me sliding around. I ride in the good ole "H2 crouch" most of the time to prevent large wheelies and sliding off the back. I nearly did this one time when I wasn't paying attention and nailed it in second with Gast chambers and a 14 tooth drive sprocket. At the last instant I was able to close my fingers on the bars and prevent falling off the back at 55 mph. Scariest thing that ever happened to me on an H2. I still don't like to think about it.

Looks like the old seat cover will stay awhile longer and keep getting patched with vinyl repair silicone. Maybe an NOS one will show up (lol), or something. Thanks for all of the info.

Like a pair of Old Boobs . . . . They sag with age! My Utterly Original 5,000 mile H2 has rarely had a passenger on it, as you can see the front of the seat is still "pert" but the rest of it has saggy foam - I do have One of my repros with me and if I get a minute over the weekend I will take some pics for your consideration
