Yesterday was spent troubleshooting the inop turn signals. I changed the flasher unit from the parts bike ... nothing. Mark Haase shot from the hip and scored with a broken soldered end in the LH control switch being the culprit. I went to the parts bike and that switch was installed in a matter of minutes. John Evans fielded and answered my questions about turn signal wiring as well. The indicator bulbs were flashing opposite of the signal selected. It was evident that someone else has been trying to troubleshoot in there at one time or another as the front screws on the plastic cover were 1/2 way out. I swapped the positions on the bulbs and all works as advertised. I also changed the feed line from the oil tank to the pump. Then I had to pick up 7 bred heifers we got yesterday.

To sum up: Tim fixed his turnsignals then picked up some fine country women.
And here they are:

They are 7 months bred and nearly starved, about 300- 400 pounds underweight, whoever owned them didn't take care of them. They were so hungry they were eating the sawdust out of the sale ring. The price was right and the bad weather helped drive the price down further as hardly anyone showed up for the sale. Hopefully the calves will be OK, despite the lack of good nutrition during the majority of the gestation period. We are feeding them up so hopefully all will go well. They are strong , big boned and young, so they will bounce back.

The RD350 swing arm had side to side play so I ordered bronze bushing the fix it but when I took the swing off yesterday it has hardened metal bushings and have no wear. I think all I really need to do is torque the swing arm nut more. Is this an upgraded bushing I have or was that standard on the 350's?

All RDs have the Plastic bushings stock. Mikes XS and other sources sell the brass bushings of the correct size. If you look under the swingarm pivot end covers you should find shims which take up the end play. They may be missing or you need more. Its better to shim than to torque on the swingarm pivot and bend the frame to take up the clearance.

Permanent VT REG arrived yesterday. It's off to the VA DMV this week to get a VA title and plate. VT sent a $3.60 check along too as I over estimated the tax :D :D

As of this morning.

The bronze bushing upgrade took out all the play. The way the frame is braced I doubt torque would of moved the frame in. There were shims so I guess more shims were needed. I worked on it till 0100 this morning and just like the exhaust, chain, mirrors, and steering damper. Tim kept texting me last night trying to slow me down :banghead :D I'm about to eat me a bowl of Cheerios and get after it again.

It took 70 days from start to finish. I put main and pilot jets in from an after market kit. Orginal jets are going back in, I knew better.

Once I get the engine tuned I report back on the handling upgrade.
