Cody, can you tell us about that front brake set up?

Caliper is from the newer version Ninja 250. 2011 or 2012? can't remember..but got it off of ebay for under $30.00  ..and it is in perfect condition. Poor kid must have crashed his bike on the way home from the dealership...
I made an adapter bracket to fit the caliper to the KZ650/KH500 fork lowers.. Master Cylinder is a New NISSIN Radial with 1/2" bore. Custom length black stainless brake line.

Supposedly, the new Ninja 250 caliper has better bite and feel as compared to the old style (EX500) caliper. Plus it is quite a bit smaller and lighter. I guess we'll find out soon enough how it works. Lever feels nice pushing it around the garage though.

gauge finally came back from speedhut.... not sure why the needle isn't "zero'd", I'll try it out in the car before mounting it on the bike to see if its accurate. If not, and if the needle doesn't zero out.. Back it goes.

Not exactly thrilled with the whole experience to be honest.

Scrambler,
Power the unit up and down a few times. The needle typically will cycle up and then drive back to zero (the Speedhut tachs do anyways).

If your unit is not factory sealed for outdoor use you will have to open the front of the unit to seal the lens against rain... (The bezel unscrews from the body in a normal direction to open). A thin layer of RTV applied to the body's rim (where it meets the lens) here. Too much RTV and it will ooze and be seen on the inside of the lens!

To seal the wire exit I removed the grommet and injected RTV into the area to completely fill the hole and between the wires. Then it was the old "spit on the finger" trick to form the RTV into a nice looking tapered fillet.

Wow, that's a fair amount of work to get a finished unit usable.
