cody do you think you will get less intake noise with the 3 into 1 air filter plumbing rather than 3 seperate pods.
as my h1 with seperate pods/elbows is quite loud and would do this mod if that was the result.
cheers mark

nah.. I think its going to just as loud.. or louder? , since its now all coming out of one big fat hole.

I've run RD's with the 2 into 1 K&N setup and I don't think there is any difference over individual pods.

I'm sorta wierd in that I really don't mind the intake "honk" of these bikes. As long as it runs crisp, I'm happy.

I think I'm just going to make a decal that says "Honkmaster 2000" and slap it on the chrome.

Jim's R/R/Cappy showed up today.

Originally the bike was to have an H1e/f/KH500 Ignition and first mock up had everything up tight behind the steering head....CDI boxes and Stock R/R unit.

But plans change, so the bike now has an H1d/H2 ignition system with the CDI boxes mounted under the seat

Jim's R/R unit is a little bit smaller than the factory unit, so it fit perfectly in the original spot. (I had to trim the fins on the original)

Now, everything aside from the stator is new...

So most of the ignition stuff is finished. Just have to build the lighting part of the harness now.

some boring photos

i was not a fan of the painted cases at first but they are really growing on me now.
also were are you going to locate the chain runner gaurd thing you mentioned earlier?
i had a trial bike that had one but it was wrapped around the swingarm and was a pain to change out.

yeah, I've always liked the wrinkled finish on the gauge pods, and believe it or not, the Harley paint is a near-perfect match (if done correctly).. and supposedly durable.

I had to run an MX chain slider on the H1 due to the longer shocks as the chain rubs on the TOP of the swingarm

But on the Hybrid, the combination of the longer shocks and 16 tooth front sprocket (went with 16/50 gearing as I already had a new 520 Sprocket Specialist Rear and 16T front and thought I would save some $$ ), the chain doesn't rub the top of the swingarm, but will on the bottom of the cases (in the typical spot)..

I've already "clearanced" the cases a bit, and under load, the chain will not touch. But on Decel, it probably will... So I am working out a simple "slider" or "tensioner" (although it really won't be providing much tension) on the bottom. Just to keep the chain from rubbing on the cases.
I've bought an idler sprocket from Erik Buell Racing (part of the chain conversion kit for a Buell XB), and just have to sort out fitment and the rest of the mount. Since the frame is already powdercoated, it has to be "clamp-on".

Hindsight being what it is, I probably should have just ordered up a 45 or 46 tooth rear and ran a 14 front. But then I would have been adding a slider to the swingarm..
6 in one half dozen the other.
