It was a great get-a-way. Glad to see all of you again and meet plenty of new guys too.

Many thanks to Jeff, John and anyone else that played a hand in organizing, and to Roger for dealing with my demanding nap schedule. This event is, and always has been a highlight of my year.

To anyone who saw me leave a 4" wide stripe of ATF up Deal's Gap parking lot as I pulled in, you were prolly just as doubtful as I was that my Taurus automatic would make it the 700 miles home. The grey area of whether my company car should have a trailer hitch on it would've quickly turned black if I'd have spun a tranny towing bikes through the mountains.

Fortunately, it turned out that when I had the fluids topped on Friday, they overfilled it. The ATF then apparently foamed from the mountain load and shot out the vent, pooled from windage at speed in some undercar plastic, then pissed out when I slowed to a crawl going up hill...like the Gap's drive...simulating a cracked case or severely spewing seal.

Tranny's fine, and I made it homo k in 13 hours. Now all I have to do is find a use for the seven spare quarts of Mercon V I bought for the trip home.

Ha, so that's what that stripe was in the parking lot. Glad it was just an overfill problem. I had something similar happen once, backing out of a parking space at a rest area, and finding a big puddle of ATF. That's not what you want to see.

Last night at the hotel we stayed at I kept waking up hearing 2stroke bikes, freaked me out.
