I equate it to a enthustic guy that loves skateboaring, he builds a park and at first, is there all the time to keep it running. the park gets busy, but troublemakers start showing up, and he just wants everyone to police themselves. Of course some don't care and keep on causing trouble. Finally he asks a few guys to help out keeping it up. They are enthusitastic also, and are glad to help. But it gets busier, more troublemakers coming in, sellin drugs, sneakin in booze and writing graffiti everywhere. More guys are added to help keep the place running, and it ends up the guys are doing all the bouncing, and cleaning up the graffiti.
Little by little the owners changes interests and is there less and less. Finally he has totally lost interest in the park and never shows up or cares about the place. Meanwhile the guys that actually love skateboaring are working their asses off to keep the park going, as it is getting busier, and busier. The guys have been asking for supplies to keep the park up for a long time. The owner doesn't care, and the guys get no help. Finally the owner shows up out of the blue spraying graffiti. the guys remove it, then get bitched out for doing it, and it's his park and he can do what he wants. This just pisses the guys off, as they have been working for years getting rid of the graffiti.
The final straw is when the guys take vacation, the owner does nothing, and the park immediately goes to hell. The guys come back from vacation, the place is a mess, and the owner is yelling at them for not doing thier job, when he didn't even bother to take any time to watch the place when they were gone.
So the guys said if you don't care, why should we? So they said "see ya" and left the park and built their own, for enthusists, by enthusists. It was the guys enthusiasm and work that made the old park work, not the owner. Now there is a new park, with the troublemakers not allowed, and new ones turned away at the doors.
The old park is still there, run down and almost deserted. A few guys hang around for nostalgias sake, the guys that kept the place going all those years would be thrown out even if they wanted to go back. The owner of the old park removes any "word" of where the new park is, if it's asked about, and if someone complains about his park, they are thrown out also.
He always had made it a war with other parks, doing what he could to run them out of business. But they did it right and are thriving. There are even more now as the city has spread out, but they all work together, and boarders are always welcome from other parks.
The old park may still have the biggest sign, but it's fallen down. The once great park, is just a shell of it's former self. The owner still doesn't care, and it shows...........
