I replaced the seals in the oil Injection pump. New x ring seal was pretty snug initially. I have been lubricating and exercising it quite a bit, and it is loosening up. Next is to take apart and clean the check valves.
On another note, I will be prepping the frame and swing arm and having them powder coated next week.

Cleaned the oil injection passages in the case today. One was gummed up pretty good with 44 year old injection oil. I used some copper wire and solvent and all passages are nice and clear now. Engine is coming together well. I should have the pistons and cylinders on this coming week.
Frame and a few other bits are at the powder coaters.

Check valves and lines cleaned up nicely. Hopefully filling and bleeding goes smoothly with no air bubbles.

I broke down and decided to replace the aged air intake with new.
Like all projects, original budget has been exceeded. Things I could have lived without in the beginning suddenly seem worth spending on.

Today I had the chance to put the top end together. Pistons went on well, with the second circlip being the toughest part.
Cylinders given a light 2stroke lube, rings lined up, and cylinders slid on nicely.
Set the gaskets and torqued the heads to spec.

Thanks.
Waiting on the powder coater to get to my frame and swing arm. Supposedly the end of the week, but he was booked up and it may be next week. Hopefully the end of next week I can start putting things together. The Higgspeed exhaust will not arrive till late July early August. Decal set for the body is lost in the mail at this time, but he said if it is not here soon he will send out another set.
Today I tested the electronics with the ohm meter, and everything seems pretty good. True test will be when first start comes. Electrical parts can be finicky, especially at this age.

Be sure you read and follow the FDM on the Resources page as to the O Ring crush in the rear chamber. It is specific on O Ring crush sealing.

I'm not sure what FDM stands for.
I've read Bulletin 73H16, http://kawatriple.com/bulletins.htm#Bul ... 073%20H-16
Is this what you are referring too?
