Looking to purchase new (not NOS) coils for the H1D triple. I read the thread about dremel out and solder in new wires. Not sure if I want to do the 4 hour surgery. So - if someone could please point me in the direction of simple replacement coils (that are a certain fit/operation) I'd greatly appreciate it. After all the improvements - I'll probably not want to sell the bike. Thanks in advance!

If you need H1D coils, you can get a set of three reproductions for not much over $100 from guys like Jessbikes and Mid Atlantic Cycle.

Hey Jim - I did see that Jess repro kit (that says H1D at the end of the description) but I just wanted to get confirmation from end users like yourself - so thanks. Ja-moo your video is excellent - I will go that route first - all I really wanted was new wires to begin with.

Glad to help, a cheap fix if the coils are still good. I did find doing a couple of raps of electrical tape under the shrink wrap really seals things up.

I ran a coil test a few years ago, with a motorized H2 alternator and H2 CDI set. The black reproduction coils performed approximately like originals, which are very good. I can't tell you much about coil life, other than I haven't read any posts about failures.
