Modern forks and swing arms can be had on ebay for very reasonable prices with a little hunting. I bought a freshly rebuilt set of 04 zx10 forks for 250 bucks. Triples can be had for under a hundred. Wheels, another 250 and a swingarm with shock can be bought for about another 250. Then you'll need an offset sprocket for about fifty and a some steering bearings for another fifty or so. Now you'll need controls, clip ons, spacers, some machining....

You can probably do it that way for under 1500, maybe a grand with a little luck.

Don't forget the progressive springs you can buy for the stock front forks. That is a great and cheap mod, and Jim Hinshaw at http://www.fastfromthepast.com have them I think. I also have the front forks air pressurized.
Using 18 front wheel and also lower the front end/lifting the rear end helps a lot regarding turn in.

Good rear shocks and a needle bearing alu swinger ( I use a modded 1100 Katana swinger, that is 35mm shorter than stock H2B, and about 25mm longer than a stock H2/A) with modern radial tyres on a moderate wide rear rim are VERY noticable. I use 160 rear tyre, and NO WAY a skinny 110-120 diagonal type rear tyre with stock steel roundbar swinger can handle the speed I can do in turns.

..j.

Frack - now I have to go look..... Meh - not so bad, you could always say you live in Florida (no turns there just straight lines)

But the mods calendar gives a lot of examples for this thread.

Chicken strips really don't count for you, Barry. You have that big tire on a narrow rim. My 130 rear tire on a 3" Lester has no chicken strips, but on a stock rim it would.

yes it's Rod.

When I say needle bearing on the swing arm, it's with the genuine one, there're some kits to put genuine swing arm with needle bearing: perfect

As far as the original post goes, the FZR600 forks and swingarm seem to be the hot ticket. ;)
