I found this on Youtube. There are no too many clips of KR750s in action. Shows a good comparison of the KR vs. TZ

Hansford did a few races on a stock H2, ('73) when Stock-Production racing was big over here. That was the time where if there were 5 H2's in a race, they would finish 1-5! (I got a few 5th places, not that I raced against Hansford!) :lol:

Do you think that is a '75 TZ700 or since the vid is from '76, a TZ750?

Seems the KR has a bit more grunt out of the corners, but the TZ has more straight line speed?

oh, not to mention the TZ seems to handle a bit better too.... :lol: :lol:

Love this footage of the pros.
#65 looks like he has MX handlebars.

If these guys are running a 1:14 lap time, what do you think a modern bike would do on the same track?

I looked at wikipedia for this and didn't see any bike records but a F5000 Chevrolet did a 59.something: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandown_Raceway I would think a modern bike on modern tires would be 5-6 seconds faster than what they were running back then.

funny on french production race on73 H2 finished1-35 with perhaps a Norton 36 8-)
and from 1972 until 1978 included french production championships 750cc then 1000cc class have been won by H2 :clap: :clap: :clap:
last victory 1979 Jöel PARE (sadly died since from illness) Paul Ricard track :clap: :clap: :clap:

They haven't used the Sandown Track for bikes for donkey's years, so I wouldn't know how quick the bikes would lap these days. I think they use it for the V8 super-cars once a year. All the racing here seems to be Super-bikes, not sure the racing scene is as healthy now as it used to be in the old days!

Rod, did you notice the announcer thought Hansford lost the race because he used his rear brake? I didn't want you to miss that.

Arrh, that'll be one of those new-fangled disc-brakes that let Greg down.......(can you believe they used a front calliper on the back!!!) Hmmm, now I think about it, not such a bad idea!! :? :lol:
