I admit, we do it right. A large part of that is RIC! The originator of this meet never put his credit card on the line to secure rooms. He just took credit for the turnout.

RIC IS DA MAN!!! (but be careful you don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.....)(you might not be able to ride)

Then you deserve a special award, Roger. I thought I already posted this, but I guess it didn't work. Everybody start thinking about an appropriate award for Roger being the ONLY PERSON TO MAKE ALL OF THE TWO-STROKE meets at DG.

my first year (2003?) I pulled in just before midnight after a 17 hour drive to find Mark Haase working on his RD350 in the rain out in front of one of the rooms. If I remember correctly he had just got back from town and was strapping Ford coils to the downtubes as the originals were wiped out by the rain? I knew right away I was in my element. 8-)

So many stories from those first few years. It truly was the wild west.

Does anybody have photos of the 2003 meet?

i'll never live that down. it was emgo coils that failed in the rain, was replacing them with ford car coils. one from cable auto parts, the other was from the gas station where the 'hellbender' place is now at fontana, but back then it was a gas station with a repair bay. guy running it sold me the one off his 429 powered racing boat he had in the garage (where the pool table is now)

that bike was received in a partial trade from Tim Steele, he got my h2 (the one i would have taken i mentioned i had in 02), which incidentally was the bike that got burned to the ground during that freak lightning strike at his place and what resulted in the Phoenix coming to fruition.

6 degrees of 2-stroke separation.
