I've never been to a Deals Gap meet. Is there an agenda?
Bike show on Monday? Beer drinking contest on Tuesday?
GPS mystery ride on Wednesday?
Whats the story?

Here's what our event would look like if it were written up like motorcycle clubs write there's up (note: we're not a club, we're buddies).

7 day event

Dues: If you want to contribute some guy over there will take your money.

Preregister: Lay in waiting until after midnight for Ric to post the rooms.

Guided Rides:
1 Go for a ride, no one is stopping you
2 Stay out of my way (we don't need no stinking ride-captain)
3 Try to keep up with any number of guys on a death defying run through the Gap
4 Gap runs at night without headlights

Seminars:
1 Watch Jeff weld with a coat hanger
2 Watch Mark adjust things you didn’t know a bike had
3 Watch Moo (short class-no exam)
4 Learn proper bitching techniques watching Ric work (all day event)
5 Stay out of Chuck’s way, he’s working on my bike

Road Riding School:
1 Being escorted off the premises (don’t come here if you don’t know how to ride)
2 Keep up with me and pay attention
3 Learn to load a bike into a pickup in the middle of nowhere

Performance:
1 Stay up after dark
2 Bring your own (liquor, beer, smoke, bike, gun, axe, porn, whatever cranks your tractor)
3 Nightly events at each end of the hotel including (liquor, beer, smokes, bikes, guns, axes, porn, etc)
4 Stagger in the middle of the parking lot at night when bikes are being rev’ed up

Great Food: that you brought, cooked, and shared.

Camp Fires: plenty of free starting fluid. Go get some wood

Hotel has free coffee in the rooms

Door Prize: throw up in your own bathroom

Camaraderie: can you ride?

Why, I don't recall ever asking that question. ;) I think I've been quoted out of context.

A schedule for deals gap events? That would be like herding cats. It's always good to be there enjoying the comradery, scenery and polluting the air with NO particular thing you have to do. I'll have some really nice shine for the evening fire chat this year.

Oh boy! My buddy who used to make it locally moved away a few years ago, and I haven't had much of the good stuff since then. He really did a good job, charcoal filtering and all.

Since I wouldn't be able to spend the entire week, I figured I'd ask if any days were better than others.
I figured if there was a display/contest of everyone's bikes, that would be a good day to be there.
I've ridden 129 and most of the other roads around there, paved and dirt, so nothing unexpected there.
General chuckleheadedness and asshattery was an expected bonus....and then shine on top of that.

If you want to ride, Monday-Thursday are best. If you want to party, the 2nd weekend is best, and riding isn't great. No shows or contests as far as I know. The partying Monday-Thursday is better than the riding on the weekend, by a long shot.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the traffic jam that is the Dragon on a weekend......but the Dirt Cherahola is rarely busy.
I'll see what I can swing.

I didn't mean just the Dragon. All the local roads are busy with Harleys on the weekend. But you know that.
