Just an idea of when folks should be arriving so we can keep a watchful eye out.
If you're coming from far far away...an idea of your route might be helpful.

Not sure when I can get away......I live a mere 5 hours from the Gap so I can be fairly flexable.
I should arrive by 6 pm Saturday or 1 pm Sunday

John has a better handle on this having done it many times.

But the two times I've done:

Leaving Moo's Friday. 40 the whole way. Two days driving from his house. Hotel somewhere in the middle - when we get tired. Neither of us likes driving at night for too long.

Stay up north (Alcoa, Maryville etc) hotel for the night (it's usually fairly late and hotel preferred rather than late night driving all the way through).

Sunday - Drive to the resort in the morning and hang out in the parking lot till rooms are ready.

Note: First trip my Garmin gave us a neat easy route but we could not find it last time (same Garmin - no map updates).

One route I see - and please comment - is 40 to 321 to 72/115.

But I see Lenior as the closest "big" city for a hotel for the night. Any ideas on this route?

Look for a pregnant Pokey in a Black Chrysler 300.

Normally Johnny, and I roll out by 7'ish Saturday night and roll in 13-14 hours later so that would put is there noonish on Sunday. Our route is I-70 to I-64 to I-57 to I-24 to I-40/hwy73-321to Hwy 129. Is that enough I's? We'll post our actual departure time as we head out the door. Everyone drive/ride safe in the mean time and we will see ya when we see ya.
