Missing a good chance to combine a cheap Vintage bike weekend and a few days at the Gap by Volunteering for Barbers (Free weekend camping and can get free laps at on the track!) then combining Columbus Day holiday (monday) with a trip to the Gap!

Looks like the chance of GREAT weather for the weekend/week after. ALL CAMPING for Barbers is sold out!! except for free Volunteer camping!! Dofin

Barbers broke records again this year for attendance and GREAT WEATHER!!!!!! To much to see and do.

Excellent 5 days at the GAP! Camped, rode the wheels off my RD. Explored tons of new roads, to me anyways, in Georgia. The wood for the fire pit was DRY! and diverse folks around the pit. Great weather but had showers on the way home, even the ride home was exceptional!! Hated to admit it was over when I got home.

Well I feel my RDs and GTs have hauled my rear all over the US and Europe for 35 years. Figure they deserve to be pampered for as long as I can do it. This is how my poor RD and GT looks when I am all loaded up for camping. Towing with my Honda lets me RIDE to were I will camp and then have fun on my two strokes. Also hauling all the weight on the RD/GT wears the chain/tires out really really quick and I get much better gas mileage towing with the Honda, 40 mpg!

Was fortunate enough to be able to go to deals gap this last weekend. Took a long weekend stay in Gatlinburg. Looped through the dragon and down to Cherokee and back Friday with my new suspension on my triple........."Triumph triple"........oh man what a difference even two up. Had the road all to myself. Turned frigid Sunday so one good ride..... I always like going there when the hub bub is over. Maybe I can spew some proper smoke in the spring. It's just so quiet without John's voice echoing through the mountains. But I do miss Gumby.
