Between being half asleep and half awake this morning, I dreamt I was at the Gap, trying to decide if to rent a bike, what type and for how long or if to wait on the generosity of someone loaning me one  Also wondered if I would be up to riding for approximately 6 hours per day, not wanting to keep anyone back, wondering if I would make a fool of myself. Even wondering about getting some rain gear, borrowing a helmet, etc. Jeez

But most of all dreaming about hitting the lovely roads, the sun streaming through the trees, the brooks along the highway, swishing along the roads and whupping that Dragon's arse. SWEET!!!

Is it still 9 months to go???? :(

Moo, since I don't and can't fix bikes, what would I do staying at HQ all day long?

Nahhhhh, I prefer to ride. Butt and legs will hurt, but by day 3 of riding, I'll get used to the torture and be fine.

Assuming you stay to the right of the center line.

Dammit Jim, I had to think hard on that one, remember I drive & ride on the CORRECT side of the road - the LEFT! HA!!

On a completely different note Jim, how far away are you from Sanford, NC? I learnt to train dogs in the Tarheels there, when we were at Deals Gap, I kept on seeing signs that said Tarheel, but I know we were nowhere close........were we??? :?:

Huh-huh-huh, you said "hard on".

Sanford is about 2 hours southwest of here by car, going the speed limit. 15 minutes or so by H2.

Funny, I remember some "experts" on one general forum who had more posts than miles!

These days, I do ride less than a hour a day. I'm lucky to get a couple hours a week in right now.

Due to some binge riding, soon hopefully.....

Guess I am a binge biker ;)

Some people ride, some read......

I ride more in the week at the Gap than I do the rest of the year. I just ride race days, and that's 3, 10 minute practices, and 1 or 2, 10 minute races, so less than a hour a month. 8 race weekends, 8 hours plus the Gap a year.

So less than 20 hours a year. that works great for me.......... :e11
