Gentlemen, I have an announcement but don't panic until you read the whole thing. Given the uncertainty of, if things will be open in early May and given that a fair amount of you have indicated to me that you cannot attend (either you can't or you just can't wait to see what happens any longer), the "official" meet in May is being moved to a later date. As of today, the motel at DGMR is closed and Jud said at this point closure is "indefinite". Swain county is evaluating things week to week, but he does not know if they will be reopen or not.

However, I have several items of good news.

1. If they are open the week of May 3rd, for those of you who would like to get a room (if they are open), DGMR has agreed to give us first shot at any number of rooms that week. We will honor the previously arranged room holder list first. Note that there will be available rooms as many have already cancelled plans. Currently listed room holders please let me know ASAP if you and your roommates still want a room or if you are giving it up (MAY). I have indicated what I know next to each person's name on the list below.

2. DGMR had 1 week available to offer us, which I grabbed. The new official meet dates are Saturday, August 15th - Saturday, August 22. This was the only week we could get the whole place for a whole week. We will be honoring the original room holder list and see who drops out. PLEASE DO NOT POST IF YOU ARE COMING IN AUGUST IN THIS THREAD.

PLEASE LIMIT THIS THREAD TO CONVERSATION ABOUT THE WEEK IN MAY. LET ME KNOW IF YOU INTEND TO GO IN MAY.

Current room holder list for May:
Chris Montrowl - Not attending (Roommate Buddy - Not attending)
Tim Steele (apartment) - Not attending
Jim Hobbs - Not attending
John Ayler - Not attending
Frank Tarpley/Allen Wood - Not Attending
Evans Ward/Shane Weeks - Not Attending
Lane Pipkin/Jeff/Jay - Lane and Jeff Not Attending (not sure about Jay)
Chuck Quenzler (apartment) - Not attending
Charlie C. - Not attending
John Evans - Not attending
Dave Booth - Not attending
Roger Swartout - Not attending
Tom Judkins/Carl Zavalney - Carl and Tom attending!
Mark Demshock - Not attending

Waiting list:
Mike Long with Sammy - Not attending
Steve Sullivan - Not attending

If you are not listed above and want a room in MAY, indicate here to get in line.

Thanks guys! Hope to see as many people as possible in August!

JUST TO CLARIFY: GIVING UP YOUR ROOM IN MAY DOES NOT GIVE UP YOUR ROOM FOR AUGUST!
Chris

I know! :) It might be the best riding conditions we've ever seen! But, I can't take a chance at this point. I'm around both parents and both in-laws, all 4 80 or better, plus my 2 grand kids.

Hi Chris,
I will talk to Chuckie in the morning on his way to the shop and get you an answer. We usually ride up together. I (we) will attend in August and hopefully Tom J. might room with me also.
I appreciate the update and hope to see you guys in August.

Stay safe,
Charlie
