I spoke to Jud (general manager) today via phone. As of now, they plan to be open for our meet as planned. We will stay in close contact and any new developments will be communicated. At this time, we still have the entire motel for the whole week.

In addition, normally we would have officially switched the rooms over from me to the roomholders names (and credit cards) by now. However, Jud has agreed to wait a while longer until we see what happens. He also understands that if the meet happens as scheduled, there’s a chance a number of guys may not make it resulting in less than full capacity at the resort and he is ok with that due to these unprecedented times.

It is good Jud is accommodating. I’d say it is up in the air and iffy at best.

Agreed on being iffy. For those that don’t know, I work at a major medical center (University of Florida Health) so I get daily covid updates. The “surge” here has not peaked yet.

So glad I’m retired from GA Dept of Public Health! They are probably working 12 hr shifts 24/7 right now. Stressful!! I was part of the District Operations Center in times of declared State of Emergency.

Jim, Pretty good explanation of the disease process.

I have a much better understanding after watching it. I know you're in the business. How are things where you work and live?

Sounds like it may well happen in May as schedule, or at worst a few weeks later.

FWIW.....some of us use to meet there in September. A good time....A word of warning however, do not go there during Fall leaf dropping season. The leafers are plentiful and the leaves can be slick...

Just a thought,....

I would be coming up on a motorcycle. Had planned to camp but if they need a room taken I might be able to accommodate a few nights.

Sweet  , I've been so busy at work lately then spending nights at the lake. I haven't had time to do much at the house. Will you bring your push lawnmower and weed eater and other yard tools to make the yard pretty while you are there?......there's only 23 acres.
