I think last year, there were 2 cancellations prior to switching rooms over to the individuals, but to be honest, I think this year's list looks pretty solid.

Jay, please use the house as a place to stay for your drive.

I'm screwed this year.
I quit a good high end remodeling sales job in August to join a hi-tech start up.
Pay, bonuses, and stock options were incredible.
Put together a 6-person sales team, taught them the basics of remodeling (from looking at digital scans), estimating, sales, etc.
Made our sales numbers for Q4 and I was laid off on December 4th.
No reason, no issues, and my team loved me.

I did what I was told even though there was a war between my boss and production; he didn't want any of us to point out mistakes in the estimating system which cost the company money. It just made his department look better even if we are on the same team.
He also insisted that we didn't need permits for work which we really did; like structural, electrical, plumbing, etc.
The guy knows nothing about construction and comes from the hi tech computer software industry.
They also never did lead paint containment for houses built pre-1978 which is an EPA law.

I was paid for the rest of December and was "offered" my quarterly sales bonus if I quit and didn't go for unemployment.
Other than burying my father, this is the worst thing that's happened to me.
Huge shame and guilt; haven't told my 23 or 26 year old kids; way to embarrassed.

Work got slow at my old job so no going back, and I was the top of the 3 salesman they had.
I also promised my son I would help him with his house in SC this spring.
If I don't have a job by the Gap, I will be in no shape to ride either.

Ride safe fellas and thanks for thinking of me.
Also, I can't view the PM in my box so sorry for blowing someone off.

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune and unhappiness Jim. If you really don't make it we'll miss you. I was envisioning you playing bass to some slow blues I'm brushing up on.

Popa Chubby is playing at AMP by Strathmore in Bethesda March 27th. Maybe he can cheer you up. I'm seeing him in Durham on the 7th.

Jim C- man that sucks but I am confident something will work out in your favor. You are very skilled and super competent at your craft so sending good vibes your way and will lift up prayers. Hoping it works out you can make the Gap but if not, please know you will be sorely missed by all. #1 priority right now is taking care of your self and staying the course towards another work opportunity. Please PM me your phone part number if you need to talk and vent.
