What are you fixing John ? Your bikes looked and ran perfect last time I saw them.
Well, the girlie bike about once a month belches out some fluid. I took her clothes off to see if I can find where it is coming from. It usually happens at the same time she gets very moody.
Last year at the gap we did the Cherola/Dragon circle and I tried a top speed run on the level ground between 143 and 129 on the Daytona. She ran up ok in 5th but when I shifted into 6th it would not pull up any more speed. I pulled the top to have an inspection and found this. See the crack? I talked to Chuck Q and he advised me to find a pre Daytona head as it would be much easier for him to machine the combustion chambers for the proper squish and CCs for the over size piston. He bored and cleaned up the ports. I'm having to wait until I have a warm day to paint the top end before I can put it back together.
Daytona is back together, tuned, and pulling good. It has a little different appearance with paint on the pipes and different heads. The RZ leak was found to be a loose clamp so she is ready to go. The Daytona still needs it's shifter shaft seal changed and I would like to put the oil injector system back on.
Looking forward to seeing y'all soon.
