As you know, the 2018 Deal's Gap Eastern 2 Stroke Meet will be April 29 - May 6. All rooms are blocked off for the event.

As has been the routine established by Ric many years ago, rooms will be up for grabs on a first-post first-served basis in mid to late January. Currently, all rooms are blocked off for the week in my name and credit card. In order to keep the 2 stroke community in good standing with the resort, DO NOT call the resort asking about reservations for the week of the meet. You may need to help remind guys on other boards of this if you hear chatter. The resort may not understand that there are other 2 stroke forums and might think it's us calling. Members of other forums are welcome to join here as this will be the only way to obtain a room during that week. The resort lets us book the entire motel in advance as a favor to us, to ensure non 2 stroke people don't reserve any of the rooms during our event.

At this time, I anticipate the date of posting for rooms will be Saturday, January 20th. Time will not be announced in advance as has been the process for many many years. Plan your leisure activities so that you have internet access that day.

Many have asked why not post rooms sooner? Well, honestly, things happen and for whatever reason, people cancel. The goal is do this as close to the meet as possible to decrease the chance of cancellation, but far enough out so that people can make plans. Having said that, last year, I only had 2 people on the initial stand by list and one room was available almost right up until the meet.

Lastly (for now), remember, nobody else volunteered to take this over from Ric when he asked, so I would appreciate keeping any and all comments, etc. positive. This is my vacation too, and I really don't want to deal with complainers.

More to come. Thanks.

No worries Evans, I just checked your calendar, you're free that week, see you there, bring your H2.

LOL Jay! :P I wondered where my planner was? :problem:
I referenced the potential conflict which is one week before so no problem here.

Hey gents, good to see the 2018 meet is in planning mode! I'm a newbie to the forum, but I am a local (Franklin NC) with an H2 project. Hopefully I'll be done with the H2 in time to bring it, but if not, I'll drag one of the other old bikes up.

If anybody runs into issues and needs a garage or tools while you're here, my shop is always open.

Don't take this as me trying to direct you or anything, but if you're looking for a destination for a Saturday ride, there's a killer vintage bike show in Hendersonville on the 28th. Always some great old bikes to check out.
