It has been 10 years since my first DG Meet. I've only missed one since, had to get a hip replaced. It is my favorite trip and look forward to it every year. Some pics,

LIRus and myself didn't get far when these guys greeted us.

5 minutes after that we met, "Sarge" who use to drag race H2s, ticket #2 for the day. I'll never forget what Sarge said when he found out we had just been ticketed 5 minutes earlier, "You boys get another ticket today in Tennesee and you're going to jail, have a nice day" We spent the rest of that day in NC.

For the first time in ten years our crew will once again be complete ....minus one. Rest in peace Kevin.

I have this one framed and hanging in our home.

When Adam's not burning the tire off one of Russ' bikes he likes to nap.

Everyone knows the Mexican joint.

Wish this place was still open in Tellico Plains.

Tellico Plains to DG on a clothesline in record time. Adam on Russ' KH400 towing me on my H2. Yeah, we got stopped, but all they told us after checking the paperwork was, "We don't want to have to go and pick y'all up off the pavement, have a nice day". If that was CT or NY the cops would have called in a wrecker, ticketed us, and told us to find a way home.

Maryland too. When I moved from the DC area to rural NC things changed a lot. I had my van bust a transmission about 3 miles from home a few years ago. I called my wife, who drove to where I was with a 1/2" nylon rope, and she towed me home with that. I laughed to myself, thinking that I had successfully assimilated.

See you in a few weeks.

Out of the 3 "driving awards" I've been handed while at the Gap, Russ has been with me for 2 of them (2 separate years).

Rumor has it that Russ is actually working for Blount County.

He calls ahead and lets johnny-law know some guys are going to be coming through. We all get pulled over, everybody get's there ticket. Russ acts just as "bummed" as the rest of us...

The only thing is, if one were to get a good look at Russ' "ticket", you'd see that it was actually a voucher for the Hotel, Fuel stops and food for the week.

He has to be a double-agent. NOBODY could be that unlucky....

I think he is also in Cahoots with The National Parks Service. We got this ticket at Badlands NP.
