You sure you don't want to take the Bluebird?

I think the rule is tent camping is fine, but no motor homes. Maybe call and see what the current rules are.

There's camping for bigger vehicles at Fontana, about 9 miles away, and also a place a little farther that Battleax stays at, but I don't remember the name offhand. It's not far off 28, south of Sweetwater Rd.

school bus is 28 feet long and you can put bikes inside of it, bluebird is 35 feet long and you have to put bikes on a trailer
I do not tent camp anymore

Jim is spot on. Fontana doesn't have much for rv parking. You better call them. I hauled mine out one year and its easier to take a small trailer and stay in a cabin.

How would that be interpreted for a slide-in pickup camper?

Actually they have a campground at the bottom of the dam, and I believe you can park anything there that you like. It's a very scenic place along the river.

Steve, call and ask, but I'm pretty sure I've seen pop-up trailers in the Deals Gap camping area, so a pickup camper may possibly be allowed.
