Just stripped out a previous sloucher helicoil on my pump. I'm not going to the gap but going to texas for some triple riding in a couple weeks.

11 hours 24 minutes till my leave starts. One last 12 hour shift. Tomorrow will no doubt be an action packed day filled with last minute details, cleaning , packing, loading and culminating with a large feast for the Bridal Unit's 60th birthday gala.... |

It's maybe 25 miles further to go through Cleveland through the Ocoee, Murphy, Robbinsville....but then you don't have to drive through the Gap. I usually go to the Gap this way because I'm arriving at a time when the Gap is full of bikes. Either way it's about the same....no real short cut. I've tried every conceivable route. It takes me anywhere between 5 to 5.5 hours. Thats from Madison Al. You have more interstate than I do using I-59. But I've made it in 4 hours on a motorcycle...

Ocoee, Murphy, Robbinsville. someone recommended , Sweetwater, then Cherohola Skyway to Robbinsville. Either way it's about the same....no real short cut. I've tried every conceivable route.
