1977 Kawasaki KH400, a real survivor. Purchased new in 1977, ridden 1000 miles, then parked for 40 years. The guy died, willed the bike to his nephew who had a shop go through it (new top end, tires, fluids, etc.) then he drove it another 1800 miles. I purchased from him in 2020: one of my riding buddies had one identical to this back-in-the-day and he went everywhere I did on my Honda 750F. This bike starts and runs well and is a pleasure to ride, I just have too many toys and have to start selling them off.

I do not have the OEM mirrors but there are old/spare parts plus the receipt for work done. $5500 OBRO.

Hi Frank! That's a neat 400, but I wonder why the top end was changed with only 1,000 miles on it.

Hi Jim!

I think it probably had light cylinder rusting, it did sit for 40 years after all. The paperwork says it was honed and stock size rings installed. The shop that did it went through *everything* and used Kawasaki parts for everything they touched. I love riding this thing but need garage space and have too many bikes. I'm thinking of selling the H2 also, I've only ridden it a couple of times this year. I spend a lot of time racing and don't ride on the weekends any more.

Hey Frank, nice to see another triple owner in New England. I'm in CT and don't know of too many other triple owners near me. Probably plenty around, just not many opportunities to get together. There is an annual event coming up September 8th in Massachusetts that's loosely focused on Japanese bikes, Rice-O-Rama in Spencer Mass. Maybe a good event to bring your bike(s) to.

You don't happen to have an S1 in your stable, do you?

Sorry no. I know about Rice-O-Rama but can't make it as there's a race that weekend. Thanks for the reminder though in case something happens and I change my plans.

I do have some H1 parts including 1969 cases and cylinders; there's an H1 owner a few hours from here in Maine but I've never met him in person. He just did a beautiful restoration on a '72 H1.

That's a nice KH400! :thumbup: It's just like the one I bought new in '78, one of the last triples sold in the US. I wish I was in a position to buy yours but it's just not in the cards right now. Good luck with the sale, it's definitely worth the price. The 77 KH400-A4 in Candy Emerald Green is the best looking triple ever made in my opinion! :mrgreen:
It looks like someone along the way did what I've done on my S3-A and put H1 handlebars on it. The stock "S" bars are too high and the H1 bars are a more comfortable fit. ;)

Looking again those may even be lower than H1 bars but not quite superbike bars, actually a nice height. I'll say again, good looking bike! :D

Thanks, yes - it's comfortable and goes really well. I love the "yowl" of the OEM intake and pipes!
