I always thought the perforated plate was CDI specific, (shape, location) but have no experience with points ignition H-1's. (My new '70 H1, red, had one.)

Can anyone please tell me if the punched plate (CDI cover) was fitted on the UK points version 1971 H1a. I know it was for H1a-c but cannot seem to confirm if it was fitted to the points version and depending who I have asked I get some yes and some no. |

The plate is used to cover the cdi... no cdi...no plate. |

Yeah, what Dale said...the Red '70 H1 was available in Aus. with points OR CDI, ($60 option). I distinctly remember the CDI only having the plate, the talk was you could store gloves on the plate without "cooking" the CD unit. |
