I now have a plug-and-play 12V CDI unit designed for '69-'71 H1s. It's $229 plus actual cost shipping, which should be around $10 in the US, $13 to Canada, and around $20 or a bit less overseas. You can read about it here: http://www.lakeserv.net/kaw/early_h1_cdi/

Jim, are you related at all to Albert Einstein? As I've commented in the recent past, your skills are invaluable to all of us 2-stroke fossil hunter/gatherer/riders. Thank you for your continued quest to help us keep our vtg bikes up and running! But on the flip side, you're putting a periodic drain on my wallet - time to start saving for yet another of your creations...

Hey! Now we've got a place to keep a small tool kit under the seat!

You did give me the incentive to resume the development I started in 2009 when you announced that you were getting out of the business. The circuitry is quite different from yours, however, so I can't give you credit for that. I do thank Frank for supplying the early H1 alternator that I used to get the timing correct and do the almost real-world testing, and Mraxl for his usual tireless support. Also Tom V. and Scott for their expert help with testing.

Yes its a clever circuit design, and if you have the transformer "foldback" correct, they will run well. Its is an odd coincidence the kit you purchased a few months prior sped your development on this. However, good luck with it, I did say it was worth investing in and you have ran with it as I knew you would. You should consider too the hall effects to eliminate those dodgy pickup coils. I can help here as well. Its not hard to acknowledge the source of the design, after all, it is fair to do that, as you do with your other copies.
