Starfire can supply CDI units for all the above models, both a cost effective replacement for the originals, and for the restorer of the early Kawasaki H1s, the distributor model, a unique service to rebuild the existing factory units back to better than new condition.
All CDI units bypass the original high voltage magneto coils that are , because of age, becoming unreliable , and can be a cheaper option than rewinding these coils. Another unique Starfire product is a high voltage generator to replace the faulty magneto coil in the KH400 Kawasaki model causing the common hard starting problem. One off ignition units can also be designed for most models of 2 stroke engines.

As from 1st august, all Starfire units have upgraded circuitry to prevent damage by overvoltages from faulty charging and regulator systems. :D This means the ZX units will now operate happily from well under 9 volts... a very flat battery... to 18 volts.... a very full battery! This does not excuse you from being a lazy sod and not fixing the charging problem.... it just means you dont need to panic right away. This also means the ballast resistor as mentioned in the fitting instructions is NOT required.
