Recently I added (or re-added) this to my stable of rides. This bike owes its lineage back to 1969 and the Blue Streak.

I bought the bike in late 2001 from my best friend. It had a bent frame. My Dad and I changed frames and I finished putting it back together. Over the years I lowered it, put swing arm extensions on it along with an Akrapovic full system. I drag raced it and went from starting out in the high 10's on my first pass on it to a 9.99 on the last pass I ever made, which I don't think is too shabby for a 270 lb (at the time) rider. I sold it to another friend in 2007 and he raced it off and on. Last July, my best friend got killed in an accident and about 6 weeks ago we had a memorial ride for him in which I rode his other ZX12RA1 that now belongs to his brother. That definitely struck a cord with me and I decided that I needed to get the bike back, not only for the connection to my best friend but also the time I wrenched on it with my Dad. I have been buying and selling old bikes (no triples, my shop is like a hotel California for triples) as of late and am in a positition to do this without negatively effecting our finances.

This a short version of my history with this bike.
