Ive done some paint jobs with DuPont or HOK and lots of expensive paints with my nice gun .
I sprayed the rat rod here with my 12.00 primer gun and cheap one stage paint.painted the yellow with left over paint from my 69 Z28 302

Dave, is it running? Good? How did those piston work?

Thought I'd add my bit here, I bought the paint from a friend who does it for a living, he gave me the tips on application, and I bought a $50 HVLP spray gun. Turned out better than I envisioned, total supplies cost around $200, plus my free labour. ;)

Not a painter, but it's not hard to do with a bit of patience...

Nice, Scully. You gonna tell what paints you used? Quite a variety of "right" answers, and yours looks mighty fine.

the top pic is HOK So Blue over a white base coat and HOK UC35 Clear....no wet sand or buffing needed....just careful spraying with a craftsman spray gun.....

he lower pic is the paint code from MrAxls we page in PPG.....using a gray primer and cleared with..god I forgot...

The head bolts...are custom and stainless from a board member a while ago, polished by...me :-)

buy good paint and read the directions well....and make sure your paint area is secure of dust and debris..and never rush....mid 70's temp works well too.....

and tries to paint in pairs too lol
