I have an update on my paint. It is not a happy story...
The painter had a lot of trouble when he went to do the rest of the paint. He ended up shooting the tank twice (which meant another set of graphics) and handed it off to me. I noticed there was a small section where it looked like the paint had wrinkled. I thought he had put the clear on a little thick and it would smooth out with some color canding. I was busy with another project so I put it away for a couple of weeks...
This is what I found when I went to put it all together:
That little wrinkle turned into wrinkles all over the paint. So... I took it back to him and he siad he would figure out what went wrong and make it right. After a month or so I went back and found the painter had disapeared. I was able to get all my HOK paint and the tank but still need a painter.
So. Does anyone know someone who would be willing to paint this tank for me? I would like to find someone local (GA) who can use the materials I already paid for. I would prefer someone who has experience painting H1s and candy paint. The tins he painted came out great -no issues. I have no further use for this paint beyond maybe painting my KZ400 so I would be willing to give the the rest of the paint to someone who can use it. There's probably enough to do another ten sets.
I've been so depressed about the paint I shoved the H1 in a corner for the last six months but I would really like to get this project completed.
Thanks,
Jim
