Started early helping dad out in the body shop/car lot, around age 11 or thereabouts. Learned a lot real real fast, was building engines, doing hands on crash repair by age 13. Worked for parts for my dirt bikes, '69 Z50 Honda, '73 Allsport Steens 100, '73 Penton Jackpiner. I loved that Penton. Mowed some local yards during this time. When I turned 16 and got my license, I loaded up my '67 Ford Econoline pickup and went after more mowing jobs, made pretty decent money, continued to work for Dad as well. Senior year of school, worked for a machine job in the afternoons and evenings through a school program. Graduated high school and started college at the community college in town, now only working for Dad and mowing grass. Then in spring of '80, a guy I know who ran the Kawasaki shop in town was looking for a mechanic, went to work there part time while I completed my associates degree. Stayed at the Kawasaki shop full time, bought it several years later. Still there.

Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Arts and Crafts design is very cool, if i made more money than i do now, i would start to get in to it for sure.

not so expensive if you have a good knowledge and if you do auctions not the big auctions but the small ones, has for exemple two genuine armchairs from Wenger I paid the both 150€ (cheaper than Ikea, and better) at an auction but was the only one to know what it was on this auction

Out of high school I worked as a gas attendant. I switched tires, pumped gas, oil changes, ect. It put money in my pocket while I finished high school.

After that, I worked from a ground hand to lineman to foreman through one company doing power line work for a contractor. I worked on everything from high lines, triple circuit distribution, underground, and all the way to the meter box. I was lead lineman for several years and it was probably one of the best jobs I ever did. If you live within 1000 miles of where I live and you had a major snowstorm or something knock you power out for a few days, there was a good chance I may have fixed it and thrown the switch to get you back hot. I ran a 65' bucket during those days, met some great guys, and lost a few friends along the way due to electrocution, falls, ect. :(

I left that to go to the phone company. I do transport network engineering and do technical support for all our OSP (outside plant) personnel in all states we service. I sit on several committees for technical evaluation and those that set standards within the company, particularly transport and power related products. ;) I'm what they call a SME (subject matter expert) covering a broad range of products, including installation, repair, and maintenance on various equipment. Your cell phone could quite possibly be transmitting data/calls across some of the equipment I've designed. :D If you have a problem in the field and ask around for help, there's a good chance you might end up talking to me.
