Your riding season, how long is it here in NY about 7 months April-Oct with two of those months being a wee bit cold but ride able.

Here it's nice except on the hottest summer days, and the coldest winder days, but even in January there are plenty of days warm enough for riding. Our average high in the dead of winter is around 50F.

Yeah, I get the impression that your part of N.C. is similar to here, Jim [transposed 6 months, of course] . A bit rural, and some interesting roads. We don't have any snow though.

It's very rural here. I'm in the middle of a bunch of tobacco and a few corn fields. It's ten miles to the nearest town, and that one's not very big. It's rural enough that our county is exempt from vehicle emissions testing.

No corn or tobacco here, but plenty of vines and wineries - you have any winding hills roads over there Jim? We have a lot of "Deals Gap" type roads here - pretty lucky, really.

About 11 1/2 months! We do have all 4 seasons though:
1) Almost Summer
2) Summer
3) Still Summer
4) Christmas
I used to live in upstate NY where there were only 2 seasons:
1) Winter
2) 4th of July
 I'm gonna hear it now...
