Friends and Neighbors, I have had trouble missing 2nd gear, mostly because of my gimpy left knee, therefore I can claim my H2 has been stress tested to be safe at 20,000 RPM, ..... But I got another shifter from a really great guy and shortened it 1.25 inches!

It is like a completely different bike, short, sure shifts, no unwanted neutrals, my Kaw Triple buddy here in town rode it and declared, he is buying another shifter for me to shorten for his H2.

Best trans mod yet. Looks a little whonky. I will post a picture if I get a minute.

Joe, many of us have no trouble at all missing 2nd gear. We can give you some pointers next month at the meet.

Was going to go that route on my 400 too Al, but got a great deal on a NOS shifter pedal, limk ends and shoulder bolt the shifter pivots on.
Yes indee Joe, tight linkage is the ticket to sure shifts.
(Or you can take Jims lessons I guess) ;)

The difference between the short shifter and pin holes with minimal wear is still huge. Lord willing I will be at the Gap and some of you can try out the short shifter, I really think it was the best mod I have done for a long time.

Next mod will be lead weights on the fork legs to minimize the wheelies........

Joe,

Looks good! I'll bet there's a kick starter rubber that would work nicely on that shaft. (rubber/ shaft :o ) Let me look at the RZ kicker rubber.... You could trial fit some rubbers at the Gap. ;) And no, I will not insert CH joke here either! :? The game folks with the holes in the wood!!
