Do we have any Borrani high shouldered wheel fans out there? I have this set, stock width. I was think of having them show polished and relaced to H2 hubs.
Plan is polished wheels ,SS spokes.polished rear hub ,brake hub. match it with aluminum coated Jims denco pipes
Problem is my buds say they look like dirt bike wheels
What do we think

Thats because they were designed as dirtbike wheels! ..... The shoulder was to help combat dents from rocks, etc.

I dig them though as they were a "period correct" hotrod upgrade for oldschool streetbikes.
They work perfect on Triples.

I give a Siskel and Ebert

Those rims don't mount tires any harder than steel or shorter bead aluminum rims. Now, older Michelin tires, the ones made of hardened steel, THEY were hard to mount on any wheel. We used to put 'em in the sun for half a day, and they still tried to break fingers, hands, arms.......

They do look period-correct, that's OK. The ridges are great for collecting crap on a wet day!! How bad/deep is that oxidation, it can be difficult to get out - let us know how you get on with the polish.
