I would clean out the end of the pipes with a wire brush / Dremmel and lube them up with some silicone grease, they're a tight fit! :shock: If they don't leak (we need a "fingers crossed" smiley) I may make a few sets, I have some ideas for some improvements too... :think:

So after turning them down, I guess there was enough material to safely cut in the o-ring grooves huh? Did you have to shorten them any?

The manifolds are from Redline. They didn't quite fit the pipes so Bill turned them down and had the idea of machining in the o-ring grooves to help seal them to the pipes. I got the Spec2's off eBay (with no manifolds) some time ago for a H2C project that I will be shipping off to Brian soon. :thumbup: These should work MUCH better than Spec2 manifolds...and look cooler too! :ugeek:

Those are for some SpecII street pipes for Jim's H2C. I didn't make the manifolds, I believe those are from Larry at Redline. They are aluminium, (that's 5 syllables) mate! The O.D. was too big so I turned them down and added some O-Ring Grooves! :ugeek: Grooovy!

Are you hoping that the o-rings will completly seal the pipes, or are you anticipating having to use a sealer as well? My ktm uses an o-ring setup but I still have to use a sealer on it.

Do you mean sealer as in something that cures like silicone sealant or Right Stuff? :thumbup: I was hoping to use silicone grease, maybe something thick like plumber's silicone, hoping for an easy cleanup when pipes are removed.

Yes, something that cures. I use the right stuff sealer, because I have a couple of cans laying around. If I would have to buy it, I would use something cheaper. :lol:
