Hi guys, I am having trouble identifying my model, H1. My eng# is KAE100793, Ch is H1F30740. Ok you say, simple - just look it up! But the numbers fall toward the end of the `E` model, definately pre-`F`, even though it is an F on the compliance plate (sticker) on the steering head. It`s not critical but I have to know these things. The manuals I have do not list the F separately but put it in with the E which is not always correct for the F. For example; I have had problems rebuilding and tuning the bike and only recently finally found a chart which listed the F`s main jet as `90` as apposed to the `92.5`s I had been using. This helped. The colour (candy super red) is as per the E mod. Etc, anybody got any advice ?

The "F" on your head sticker means "Frame", not model F. The ID chart is correct, you have an H1E.

It happens all the time. Welcome to the board. Where are you? (good to add your location to your board profile) England or Australia, as a guess? (you said "mate")

Yes, I`m in (or near) Sydney Australia. I bought the bike off a 74 yr old guy on ebay who said he bought it new in`76, which further confused me as to the age. I found, predictably the bike in much poorer condition than stated but wanted a project and was happy to do pretty much everything to it, which as it turned out was just as well as that`s what it needed.
I could tell you some of the problems I`ve had but would probably get boring. Getting there though. I prefer this model as it still goes, but has considerably better handling, styling etc and I`ve done a couple of mods which are good.

The system tried to upload but now just drops out. Briefly it`s got the h2 front right disc and caliper (virtually unobtainium), which I could not resist as the attachments were all there for it, straight bars, modern replica tyres (Dunlop roadmaster TT100), and I`ve replaced virtually everything that wears. Wossner teflon pistons in 61, Ikon shocks etc. I will try photos again when back together in a couple of weeks.

Updated profile Jim. Yes, I could have used the `board`s help in the rebuild but just the confirmation as to the exact model was very helpful. I just reset the carb settings to the correct main (92.5) and jet needle position(4) for the `E`. After I get the top end back together the next thing will hopefully be the Higgspeed Expansion Chambers.........then the bottom end..........then the frame powdercoated..........stainless spokes..........final respray ......etc, etc (that`s about 2 years for me). See you later and thanks.
Oh and anybody thinking of Raask Rearsets for their triple.......don`t.
