What forks are you upgrading and what are the piston assemblies you are using?

There is a thread on the old board about this.
The top is from my bike and the handling/damping is greatly improved with the cartridge emulators.

1975 H1F forks.

Not sure what valve to use, the write up on the resource site mentions using the FEGV S3001 valve and FPEV AD3003 adapter. The Racetech site has the FEGV3004 valve and FPEV AD3005P adapter listed for the late model H1. I guess I'll have to contact Racetech.

I belive the write up on the resource page was done before they had a model specific part number for the h1/2 and that was just a general part number for a 34mm fork. The current part number listed on the site should come with the adapters. The real question is, they list FEGV 3004 as the part number for the h1. If you follow the chart here, http://www.racetech.com/HTML_FILES/EMULATOR_CHART.html it says the FEGV 3004 is for 34mm kyb with adapters. If you also look at the chart it lists FEGV S3002 as the same description. If you dig deeper on racetech part numbers you will find that the "s" prefix on the number menas it is for street applications and the non s is for vintage dirt. So why do they list FEGV 3004 for the part number for the h1 and not FEGV S3002?

I had a long but not so inteligent conversation with I belive Louie from racetech one evening. The only thing I could get out of him about this was that the kits are exactly the same and the only difference is the setup instructions. I was also advised that I should indeed get the FEGV 3004 kit that is listed for the bike. I was not sold on this explaination, and have not yet purchased the emulators. I will still most likely put a set in the forks but I will be trying to talk to someone different at racetech about this before I do.

There was a guy I met at the Gap that they called Dr. James who knew plenty about catridge emulators (as well as bikes in general).
At one point they weren't even listed for an H1 and he said that the units are built for fork ID and not for individual bikes.
I too didn't get good info from Race Tec either.
Even after all this time, I have not taken them back out to adjust for my bike as they work very well right out of the box.
I do believe that the fork fluid listed in my write up (also recommended by James) does play an important part due to very low stiction.
