Interesting video! Fast forward to 9:40 for the Kawasaki 750 2 Stroke Square 4 which was water cooled and said to be even faster than the H2! And after that, there’s the Yamaha GL750 in-line 4 cylinder 2 Stroke prototype. Needless to say, most of us would probably own one or the other (or both!) had these beasts been produced!

This is true. Where I grew up the hills were so steep and long, when your ball rolled down the hill you just said "screw it"...

It was designated the H3. I actually rode two of them, the street bike prototype, as shown, and what would have ended up known as the H2-R racer. The race bike was here in the U. S. for only 4 days, and only at the race shop, and race track for the one day ride. Irimagiri had a part in it, then went on to Suzuki, and his next project, the RG500 square 4.

I was also present at Ontario with a friend with the Yamaha group, and rode the GL750. EFI was still going through minor glitches, but it worked well. Later, I was asked back for a small time to ride and evaluate another Kawasaki prototype, their version of the Rotary.

It was a very interesting time to be in factory motorcycle development.

I also never knew that Kawasaki was working on their version of a rotary! Was that before or after Suzuki put the RE5 on the market? I owned a ‘76 RE5 back in 1980 bought used from my preferred motorcycle shop in Dothan AL and it was smooth with a long wheelbase. Glad mine stayed reliable as that lump sure looked complicated. ‘The bike that almost bankrupted Suzuki”. I kept mine 3 years and sold it.

Suzuki did their rotary just after Kawasaki prototype their ones. It was a very interesting time back then.

Just got home from getting my left hip replaced. Hip was literally gone. One thing I have to street x's s to anyone going this path (NOT YELLING, JUST EXTREMELY EMPHATIC) do exactly what the doctors, PT Therapists and other medical pros tell you to do, without varience. Mine did not hurt yesterday, day after surgery, then, came home and missed one course of pain meds. All I will say is, do not miss any pain meds, unless you are allergic to them, and if ask, the Doc's will have other meds for you. TAKE THEM, do the PT, get 'er done & revved up!

Just an added note on the hip, I cannot feel anything of the new hip, not one pain, jolt, NADA. The pain is strictly from the nerves sending reports that the muscles, tendons, nerves have been moved, altered, "tampered with". That is why all those pain meds are needed. It isn't long for recovery, and the results, from everybody I have spoken to that has had this done, full return back tk your teenage years. Can't wait, I like what the outcome will be.
