I have put the RB decals on my '72 H2, and they came out very nicely. I was intending to have a clear coat put over them next week.
I was wondering what the thoughts are regarding clear coating over vinyl decals. What are the pros and cons?

I've used SprayMax 2K over decals successfully. I mist a couple of coats first to check the reaction. No issues with peeling or bubbling yet.

A agree about Spraymax 2K. I don't know of any cons with putting clear over decals, but I know some cons about not doing it.

I will be having it professionally done by the same person that painted the body parts. I was just curious if anyone might have a reason not to.

The only thing to consider is to let the fresh decals sit for a while, (2-3 days) B4 the clear coat. Just an extra security. And any good painter will put on a light coat or two B4 heavier film builds. Rick's decals are just about fool-proof....

I did mine over 10 years ago and still perfect , 2 pack paint and clear over RBs stickers , there is a build up of clear over stickers but not a worry , I have an original side cover and no clear over sticker and its very thin , yours AL in Aus

The decals have been on awhile. My painter is busy and it will be a week before he gets to me.
He told me he lightly scuffs the current paint and decals, then puts on 2 light coats. He then follows with a few standard coats of clear.
