If it does I never use it. I strip the finish off with scotchbrites the best I can and then clean it good with lacquer thinner and shoot and bake it. I use it because it doesn't fade or degrade when washed, de-bugged, you spill gas on it or whatever bad can happen, it just stays nice. You can buy the "rebuilt" ones from a few places for $50 but they are prone to leaking and not pumping up and there is sometimes old fluid left in the innards, you can see it seeping out of the bleed holes like dirty snot. If you buy one you are probably just going to use the master cylinder housing, the guts they use are out of spec so to be sure they work you have to put a different kit in or use the OEM parts if they are still serviceable.

Thanks for the procedural info GUTS- your detailed response will let me know how to proceed. I also have a mini oven so won’t need to bake cycle parts in the house which will please the family. Much appreciated!

Any tips or techniques you would recommend for bleeding system up with the DOT5? I have a larger size syringe I think should hold enough fluid for filling the system.

I have never had a issue bleeding with DOT5. Bleed as normal and then tie the lever to the bars overnight with a zip tie to get rid of any remaining air.
