Ok Guys, Im sick and tired of getting throttle cables that aren't correct in cable length, Can anybody let me know what brand or who I can get a good one from, The cable is short on one of the carbs and wont let the slide go all the way down.
Thanks

Mike

I have had an old tool, still use it when I need to make a cable replacement, a SOLDER POT. This way, you can record lengths, ends and build your own cables to specification. The ends are also still available, one source is bicycle parts company offerings. I build my own bicycle cables as well. Solder pot is worth its weight in gold for cable making. For the specific parts, like the bent metal tubing oout of a cable holder on the handlebar end, use the old cable to supply those bends and junctions.

You are only as limited as your own imagination and ideas.

The one from Z1 seems to be good.

Mike, there is a routing on all the cables that if not done where they should be, things don't work out. If I remember my old stuff, the junction should sit on the right side of the engine, and the shortest cable will fit first, then, as needed to where it fits easily. I can't remember exactly where the lengths need to be out of the junction, but, shortest might be center, next longer, right, longest, left.

The junction should be on the engine (under) side of the frame tube, with the main pull cable through the frame and out over the frame tube. If the junction and carb cables are run over the top of the frame, they end up not fitting correctly. Tis is from a really rusty memory, might not be right, but routing of junction and pull cable are right.

You must have gotten a motion pro cable. they are not the right lengths.

I ran into the exact same problem with my cable as well, yes, Motion pro. Max out two of the cable adjusters to try to get the third into adjustment.
Note, I've made many cables over the years, I use silver solder and never tin/ lead soft solder. Too many cable end failures as a kid with my minibike creations using soft solder.
