Had a buddy come over tonight to sonic blast his VMAX carbs from a bike that was sitting for a long time - you can imagine what we found but not as bad as I expected. WFS what a complicated carb setup. Linkages up the ass, hoses everywhere etc. Anyway we got them broken down and into the Harbor Freight ultrasonic (my second use) and it did a good job for a HF gizmo. You could smell the varnished gas smell coming out and the discolored water solution. Not sure if this will solve his carb problems but the point is a good start on something that's been sitting with gummy stuff in the passages. We'll see. If you're not familiar with these HF sonic cleaners they do have a design flaw. Apparently the gasket between the tub and top plastic can let moisture in and ruin the motherboard on the bottom (thank you youtube). The fix is to run a bead of silicone around the lip and don't overfill it. Eighty bucks, so far I like it. BTW I cooked up some chile rellenos for dinner and my neighbors came up for them too. Good times!!!! |

I use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean many types of parts, works well when applied properly, and is absolutely excellent for cooking chicken hot wings. |

My neighbor Dave who's also a major Chile fan said these were the best he's ever had. It's a lot of effort to make them and absolutely destroys the kitchen but worth the effort a few times a year. |
