I have had the real joy, and honor of being at the factory a few times many decades ago, when I was both a viewer, and a part of building a few different models of bikes. I watched the building of H2 street, Z1, F9, G5, and a couple of others, and was involved in direct building of H2R, KR350 racer inline twin, KR750 triple. I also saw and interacted with a not produced racer prototype, what was supposed to become the "H4R", 750cc square 4 two stroke, rotary valves, six speed, liquid cooled (they only made three prototypes of this one, all were crushed, it was a lot like the later Suzuki RG500 racer)(it was not at all like the later piston port street square 4 Kawasaki didn't produce, either).

I can tell you that it was unreal. You just stand there, at full attention, fully aroused, hand salute, and drooling, all while laughing insanely, uncontrollably, with a look in your eyes exactly the same as an escaped mad man from a mental institution. Then, after the build interval is done, you are invited to actually go ride one of the brand new bikes for a "snap test".

One literally can't calm down for at least a full week.

If anyone ever gets the opportunity to do a factory tour, no matter the manufacturer, model, GO, IT IS A GREAT THING TO EXPERIENCE.

Well, I did get to go on a factory tour of the Cadillac plant in Detroit in 1964.

I like this stuff too. The thought of it first being born in someones head, going to paper, the engineering, the tooling and machining, setting up the production line, the employee training, testing and more testing etc etc is amazing!! And being able to do it all and make money doing it by providing a product people want is very cool!

I have gone on factory/sales tours in my field, nothing as cool as the video, but some of them are ok. The best one was Cambria (counters) in Minnesota, first off the girls they hire to tour you through and try to sell you there product.... :D. The factory has or had at the time a bunch of trade patents so it was very Willy Wonka like.... I would ask a question and they would hustle me along without answering and try to distract the question. The tour guide finally politely told me they were trade secrets and to enjoy the tour without so many questions on how its done..
