Girls, girls, you're all pretty. Can we just drop it and get back to actually enjoying our hobby? :e11

I broke my kickstarter on my H2, can't afford a new one. There are 40 on E bay with starting bids of 700.00........  :wtf: :banghead

Don't make me quote Rodney King!

There's plenty of room for plenty of entrepreneurs in this hobby, and no two are alike. If they were, it would be much worse.

As to whether triples will outlive the age wave of those who grew up with them?

Only time will tell. Cars from the thirties and forties have been in decline for decades, and now fifties cars. But some vehicles, like tri-five Chevys & Thunderbirds transcend their contemporaries.

Also, bikes are different than cars, they take up a lot less space, insurance & maintenance, so keeping a couple that you never drive doesn't seem so wasteful.

If it wasn't for the Internet, this forum, (and to a lesser extent) E-bay, my H2 would still be a pile of rusting parts in the corner of the garage - some would argue they still are!! I don't like people bragging about the price they got for something, but that is what the scroll-wheel is for. Personally, I have given away small triple parts, because they will end up in the tipper before I get around to them - some rare stuff I'll sell for a fair price to support whatever I am trying to build. I think Mr Aylor is swimming against the tide with his Social-democatic philosophies over there, tho....!!

i am guessing all i had at that time was $70. so if i had bid more i couldnt even pay for it. i am guessing you sold it for $500

I have never made any real money parting bikes. its just a headache that keeps me from living under a bridge.
what few good scores i ever made went to pay bills. Typically if you average what a part sells for i get about half that.
i think i have $100 in the bank.
I saw one time a bidding war over a set of NOS tank reflectors that went well over $200. now repops have made the mint NOS set here in my desk worthless. fricking junkeyclaw puts rusted filthy broken peices on there and sells them like mad.
